Caledonia Homecoming Next Weekend Brings Past to Life

Go back in time during the annual Caledonia Homecoming Sept. 14 and 15 at Linwood Park.

Believe it or not, early settlers of Caledonia lived along the banks of the Root River and depended on it for their drinking water, fish for dinner and transportation.

The past comes to life again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 and 15 during the annual Caledonia Homecoming at Linwood Park, Highway 38 and 5-Mile Road.

Buildings like the old Village Hall, the historic Sturtevant train depot that saw too many travelers to count pass through its doors, and the log cabin will be open for tours. Visitors can enjoy food and entertainment, and characters from the Civil War, WWII and trapper era encampments will bring history to life.

Best of all ... it's free and open to the public.
