Chicago Student Loan Fraudster Busted Trying to Finalize Loan at Educator's Credit Union

A student loan fraudster out of Chicago was busted by Mount Pleasant Police after he tried finalizing the fraudulent loan in person at ECU.

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — A student loan fraudster out of Chicago was busted by Mount Pleasant Police after he tried finalizing the fraudulent loan in person at Educator's Credit Union.

According to police, on April 13, a Detective at the Mount Pleasant Police Department was contacted by the security Department of Educator’s Credit Union regarding a suspicious loan application they received online.

The application amount totaled $18,000, and it was determined that the suspect used a social security number belonging to an unidentified victim from Iowa. Police reported that the suspect possessed various fictitious documents to substantiate the loan application.

A day later on April 14, shortly after 3:30 p.m., officers from Mount Pleasant arrested the suspect, Kody F. Jack, 28 reportedly from Chicago.

Authorities reported that the arrest was made at the Newman Rd. Educator’s Credit Union, while he was attempting to finalize the loan application in person.

The vehicle Jack drove to this meeting was stolen out of the Milwaukee and Jack was turned over to the Racine County Jail where he was held on the following charge recommendations:

Identity Theft, Wire fraud, Operating vehicle without Owner’s consent, Fraud Against a Financial Institution, and Obstructing an Officer.
