Top-Selling Easter Treats at Nelson's

Candy is the main reason people stop at Nelson's for Easter basket goodies, said Jeff Nelson, owner, president and go-fer at the longstanding five-and-dime in Caledonia. 

The top seller is the Brach's malted milk eggs, followed by Peeps and Cadbury Eggs. 

"We have a lady who started in January asking when (the malted milk eggs) were coming in," he said. "She took all 12 bags on the counter when we had them. She'll be back in before Easter."

They also have a shelf of chocolate bunnies, cartons of marshmallow eggs and Easter grass, baskets and plastic eggs in many colors. 

For a non-sweet treat, Nelson said Beanie Babies and other small stuffed animals are always a top seller.
