When police met with her mother, Gant, she went on to say that the daughter had been having behavioral problems since middle school. Gant went on to say that she had been getting calls from Case twice a week since the beginning of school stating that her behavior was "terrible." She reportedly told her daughter the next time school called, she "was going to get a whooping."
The daughter told police that she had been whipped twice before - once in November and another time in March 2016 with the use of a belt.
Extension Cord Lashing
According to her criminal complaint, Case called Gant regarding her daughter's behavior which meant Gant would act on her earlier disciplinary statement to her daughter.
According to the complaint, the daughter came home from school and Gant told her to pull her pants down after she retrieved an extension cord from inside the residence.
The daugther told police that she pulled down her pants and she began to hit her with the cord, which was doubled over and held together. The hits reportedly lasted approximately 10 minutes.
The next day, the daughter went to school and reported the injuries to a school counselor.
When police interviewed Gant about the incident, she "was very upset and crying, stating that she is a single parent who is trying to raise her kids right, but [the daughter] doesn't want to go with the program."
