Racine Bowler, 8, Rolls Perfect Game At Duckpin Alley

He's the youngest of about two dozen who have scored 300 at The Thirsty Duck in Wauwatosa: Report

WAUWATOSA, WI — An 8-year-old boy from Racine recently rolled a perfect game at Wauwatosa's duckpin bowling alley. And he told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the feat was "kind of easy."

Max Kubiak, a second-grader, scored 300 in a game last month at The Thirsty Duck, making 12 strikes in a row, according to Jim Stingl of the Journal Sentinel.

And what is duckpin bowling, you may ask? It's a miniature version of regular bowling, with pins about half the size of regular pins and balls that are slightly larger than softballs. The lanes are 60 feet long, just like in regular bowling, though at The Thirsty Duck, the lanes are only 16 feet long.

Duckpin alleys are mostly found on the East Coast, in Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts, according to the National Duckpin Bowling Congress. The group's executive director told Stingl that the last duckpin alley in Wisconsin with 60-foot lanes, in Thiensville, closed down years ago.

Max Kubiak is the youngest of the 23 bowlers who have rolled perfect games at the local bar, grill and bowling alley since it opened in 2015, the newspaper reported. A second Thirsty Duck opened Friday in Sussex; to find out more, check out their Facebook page.
