Racine Fourth Fest Parade Lineup and Complete Spectator's Guide
If you've never been to Racine's Fourth Fest parade, you're missing one of the area's best. Here's what you'll see, and how to be prepared.

RACINE -- The Racine Fourth of July parade is one of the area's best, and welcomes in people from Sturtevant, Mount Pleasant, Caledonia and other municipalities for miles and miles of fun.
The pre-parade starts at 8:30 from Goold and Main streets on Racine’s north side and the festivities wend their way through Downtown and end all the way on Washington Ave. on Racine's South Side.
If you've never been - here's a handy guide from our friends at Fourth Fest:

1. Find a curbside seat. And do so early. But not too early. The days of all-night camp-outs are gone. The earliest you can stake your claim is 5 a.m.
2. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a blanket and/or lawn chairs, flags, and a cooler, but leave the fireworks and Silly String at home (more on that later). Main St. closes to all traffic to the north (Goold St. to thMain St. bridge) at 7 a.m., and to traffic on the south (Main St. bridge to 14th St.) at 7:30 a.m.

3. Make friends with your parade-route neighbors.
4. Cover your ears when the pre-parade starts : police cars, fire engines, military vehicles, classic cars, Case tractors, earth-moving equipment, etc.
5. Settle in for the main event.
6. Welcome our special guests. Welcome our honorary parade marshal and stand for our veterans!
7. Don’t forget to cheer for the award-winning floats and bands. Each award-winning float will be preceded by a banner announcing its win.
8. Be safe. Three things to remember: (1) no silly string (2) no “poppers” (3) no crossing in front of parade units.
9. Please consider making a donation to help defray the costs of putting on the parade and fireworks.
