Racine Man Arrested After Allegedly Crashing Into Squad Car

Police say the driver was under the influence when he struck the car.

Mount Pleasant police say a Racine man was intoxicated Saturday when he allegedly disregarded a traffic light and crashed into one of their squad cars.

They arrested Adan Calderon Alfaro, 58, early Saturday and charged him with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, according to a press release. Police say Alfaro was heading north on Taylor Avenue in his 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck when he failed to stop for a flashing red traffic light, eventually hitting an unmarked squad car that was driving east on Durand Avenue.

"The Racine Police Department was called to assist and arrested Alfaro for operating while intoxicated," said the release. "There were no injuries as a result of the accident."
