Racine Woman Busted at Mayfair; Tried to Use Stroller to Steal $1,200 in Merch

Two women were arrested and charged with felony theft after they tried to steal more than $1,200 in Boston Store merchandise with a stroller

WAUWATOSA, WI — Two women were arrested and charged with felony theft after they tried to steal more than $1,200 in Boston Store merchandise by using a baby stroller.

According to police, Cynthia Corona, of Racine, and Leesha Love, of Milwaukee, were shopping at the Mayfair Boston Store on Jan. 24 when a store security officer saw something suspicious over the video surveillance cameras.

The security officer had reportedly been watching them via video camera by an astonishing 50 minutes, police stated.

According to the criminal complaint, Corona and Love were observed piling clothes on top of the stroller, which contained a small child. They headed for a secluded corner of the store away from the cameras, but when they re-emerged, the clothes were gone.

According to police, in its place was a white plastic Boston Store bag full of clothes in the storage compartment under the child's seat.

The criminal complaint states that this duo did the exact same thing - this time in the intimiates department - vanishing into an unseen corner of the store to conceal more merchandise.

At one point, the criminal complaint states, Corona picks up a black purse and Love stuffs a pair of Ugg boots inside. Love also picked up a pair of Ugg slippers and slid them under the childs's seat.

The security officer watched as Corona and Love pushed the merchandise-laden stroller out of the store. That's where they were stopped by security with $1,261.50 in stolen goods.
