RACINE COUNTY, WI —According to a national study, when it comes to reading and math, taken as a whole, the RUSD student body is falling behind.
An educational study conducted by the University of Stanford, investigated the educational attainment of each U.S. School District and how it compared with national averages. The New York Times also has a fascinating data visualization project that allows you to investigate every school district in the U.S.
The study found that students in the Racine Unified School District were at an educational level a full grade levels lower than national averages. That means that the average third grader is performing at the educational level nearly equivalent of the U.S. average second grader.
