WTMJ Back on Time Warner, but Maybe Not Where You Expect It
Time Warner customers will get their favorite NBC programs back by 7 p.m. Friday.
It's been almost two full months since WTMJ has been on the air for Time Warner customers, but that changes Friday.
Still, viewers won't be flipping to channel 4 to catch their favorite NBC programs.
"All I can say at the end of the day is that we’re being fairly compensated for our programming, which is what we asked for all along,” Steve Wexler is quoted as saying in The Journal Sentinel. He is Executive Vice President of Radio and TV for Journal Broadcast Group.
Wexler called the blackout "unfortunate and avoidable" but said he's happy to put it in the past.
The rift started July 25 when the parties couldn't come to a new agreement over carrying fees.

From the cable company's perspective, Journal Broadcasting, the parent company of WTMJ, is the party unwilling to bend while Journal Broadcasting is accusing the cable provider of not caring about its local customers.
Instead, viewers in Kenosha, Plymouth and Racine will instead see their favorite NBC shows on standard definition at channel 83 while everyone else can flip to channel 2. WTMJ is still at the 1004 high definition channel.
WTMJ is expected to be on the air by 7 p.m. Friday in the Milwaukee area as well as in Green Bay, Nebraska and California.
