MILWAUKEE COUNTY -- Just in time for Summer 2016, Niche.com took a look at the best places to raise a family in states across the country.

According to its rankings, Wisconsin offers more than a few possibilities.

In the national rankings, Devon, Pennsylvania earned top honors. In Wisconsin, it's all about Cedarburg. The Metro Milwaukee area took five of the top 10 spots with Elm Grove (2), Whitefish Bay (3), Brookfield (4), Mequon (9) and Fox Point (10) placing high in the rankings.

The lists were created using information about public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family-friendly amenities. Data was pulled from the U.S. Census, FBI, BLS, CDC and other sources, according to Niche.

HERE IS WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT FOX POINT:

Fox Point is a suburb in Wisconsin with 6,695 residents. It has very high home values, high rent costs, and very low unemployment levels. Its citizens generally have very high education levels and very high income levels.

Crime & Safety at Fox Point: This area has very little crime. The police are almost hyper-vigilant about traffic violations because they have little else to do.

Overall Experience at Fox Point: This area is very nice, has great schools and is quite safe. The one thing that is irritating is the lack of sidewalks/streetlights on many residential streets.

Bayside is a suburb in Wisconsin with 4,479 residents. It has very high home values, high rent costs, and very low unemployment levels. Its citizens generally have very high education levels and very high income levels.

Crime & Safety at Bayside: The police are always around. They're always patrolling, always hanging out on corners, always making sure the neighborhood is safe. So few crimes happen here it's almost comical looking at the crimes that are reported in the area newspaper where there are counts of stolen chicken or of someone driving a little too fast.

Overall Experience at Bayside: There is a lot to do here, and a lot that's truly fantastic. There's a lot of ways to get involved and it's a very safe feeling place. Many things are within walking distance and just about everything is in biking distance. The education is amazing as well.

Public Services at Bayside: The diversity and political affiliation is refreshing, and the voting booths and information are both easily accessible.

Outdoors at Bayside: The town is clean; I rarely see any litter. There is a nature preserve in town that is beautiful, and the schools take field trips multiple times each year to promote the importance of the outdoors. However, Lake Michigan is polluted, so some pollution is possible.
