2 Men Arrested After Bringing Assault Rifles To Homestead: Report
A traffic stop near Homestead High School turned much more serious after police say they found loaded assault rifles and drugs in the car.

OZAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Ozaukee County are reporting that they arrested two men, saying they brought a cache of loaded assault rifles and drugs onto Homestead High School grounds.
According to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article posted this week, Willard Hartman and Benjamin Krohn, both 19 years old, were arrested on Feb. 10 after police made contact with them during a routine traffic stop.
According to the report, they were pulled over for making an illegal U-Turn on West Mequon Road and North River Trail, which is near Homestead school grounds. According to a criminal complaint filed in Ozaukee County, it was during the traffic stop that deputies discovered that Hartman and Krohn had three assault rifles and two handguns - all loaded.

When police asked what they were doing, Krohn said the two were watching a friend play basketball and that they brought the guns along with them in the car in case they wanted to make a trade. According to the report, it was not clear whether the two brought the weapons or drugs into the school.
According to court documents, Krohn faces 14 criminal charges, including carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a firearm on school grounds, possession of narcotic drugs and drug paraphernalia. Hartman faces 11 charges, including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm on school grounds, and possession of narcotic drugs.

Records indicate that Hartman and Krohn have both been released on a $5,000 cash bond.
