20 Safest Wisconsin Cities Ranked Using Crime, Survey Data

BAYSIDE, WI — The website Safewise recently released its rankings of the 20 safest cities in Wisconsin, topped by Bayside. Milwaukee-area North Shore community Bayside came in second overall.

Several metro Milwaukee communities also made the list. Muskego, for example, was ranked the 13th-safest town in the state, with a violent crimes rate of just 0.24 per 1,000 people and a property crime rate of 7.68 per 1,000. The median income in Cottage Grove is $86,588.

"Wisconsin has a safety record to be proud of. Statewide rates of violent and property crime are below the national averages of 4.49 and 27.11, respectively," Safewise said in their review. "The Badger state reported 4.22 violent crimes per 1,000 in 2017, and the property crime rate was 22.71."
