Drunk Driver Threatened to Kick Cops in the Groin
After crashing into a street sign on Lake Drive, the 28-year-old Milwaukee woman threatened officers and dug her fingernails into a cop's skin.

A drunk driver who crashed her car into a Bayside street sign is facing several criminal charges after digging her fingernails into a cop's hand and threatening to kick him in the groin.
A local resident told police that he witnessed the driver, a 28-year-old Milwaukee woman, crash into a street sign in the 9300 block of Lake Drive at 10:44 a.m. on April 7. The witness then watched her fall into the ditch as she walked around the vehicle to look at her shattered windshield and front-end damage. She tried to drive away from the scene, but a Fox Point police officer stopped her vehicle. She told police she was lost and looking for the interstate.Â
The officer gathered the names of the three females in the car, but realized the 19-year-old woman in the back seat had given a false name because she had an outsanding warrant for battery with the Milwaukee Police Department. Police took the woman into custody, which prompted the driver to walk back toward the squad and yell at the police. After two warnings, the driver was arrested for obstruction.

Police attempted to transport her to the Milwaukee County Mental Health facility, but she was banging her head on the Plexiglas divider of the squad and at one point became unconscious. Bell Ambulance responded to the scene – and with assistance from two deputies, two ambulance attendants and a police officer – she was secured to the gurney despite her thrashing and kicking, according to the police report.Â
She was transported to a nearby hospital for medical clearance and then the Milwaukee County Mental Health facility for evaluation. She was arrested for obstruction, underage drinking and for the outstanding warrant.
The 28-year-old driver, meanwhile, was uncooperative with Bayside police. Having admitted to taking several shots of gin that morning, she yelled as loud as she could at officers and threatened to kick them in the groin. With her hands handcuffed behind her back, she gouged her nails into an officer's hands with her fingernails.
Bayside police attempted to administer an Intoximeter test, but both attempts were unsuccessful because she wasn't blowing hard enough into the device. She refused to be tested a third time.
While at the police station, she repeatedly said she wanted to kill herself, and while handcuffed, grabbed her citation off a nearby table and ripped it into small pieces. She was transported to the hospital for medical clearance, then the Milwaukee County Mental Health facility for evaluation, and eventually the Milwaukee County Jail.
The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office has charged the driver with battery to a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, refusal to take an intoxication test and operating while intoxicated with a juvenile under 16 in the vehicle. Bayside police also issued a municipal citation for destruction of property.
