Drunk Jaguar Driver Found Asleep in Running Car at Stop Light — Gets 5th OWI

A drunk Jaguar driver found asleep at the wheel at a red light attempted to run from Sheriff's deputies - he didn't get very far.

MILWAUKEE, WI — An intoxicated man who fell asleep in his running Jaguar at a stop light attempted to run from authorities when Sheriff's deputies woke him up early Wednesday.

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's office, on Wednesday morning, at about 1:00 a.m., a Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputy saw a Jaguar stopped at a flashing red stop light on northbound 86th Street at Good Hope Road.

The vehicle was running in drive, and the operator appeared to be asleep with his foot on the brake. The deputy was able to wake him and put the car in park. As the deputy began to have the driver perform field sobriety tests, he fled the scene on foot. He was caught about one block away.

Larome Walls, age 44, of Milwaukee, has four prior convictions for drunken driving: May 1999, November 2008, October 2009, and November 2012. He was arrested for DUI-5th offense.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's office is recommending the following charges to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office: obstructing/Resisting and Possession of Marijuana.
