Fox Point Honored As Tree City USA By Arbor Day Foundation
Tree City USA communities must meet the program's four requirements.

FOX POINT - The Village of Fox Point announced last week that it was named a 2016 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for its commitment to effective urban forest management.
In order to receive the honor of the designation, municipalities must adhere to the Tree City USA program's four requirements: a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and an Arbor Day observance.
"Tree City USA communities see the impact an urban forest has in a community first-hand," said Dan Lambe, president of the Arbor Day Foundation. The foundation also stresses that trees provide multiple benefits to a community when properly planted and maintained, including visual appeal, increased property values, reduced home cooling costs, removal of air pollutants, and habitat for wildlife.
