Fox Point-Bayside Police Blotter Aug. 24, 2017

Here's the week's round up of police activity in Fox Point and Bayside.

FOX POINT-BAYSIDE, WI — This is the weekly police blotter from area departments. Most of the police activity had to do with DWI and disputes.

BAYSIDE

A male, not yet 21, was cited for violation of absolute sobriety after an officer saw him stopped in traffic in the 9500 block of North Regent Road at 2:18 a.m. Aug. 19. The officer asked the male, who smelled of alcohol, if he’d been drinking, and he said he had “two beers with his parents.” His blood alcohol content was 0.02.

A 25-year-old Milwaukee man, driving a “taxi,” was cited for disorderly conduct after a report that he slapped a passenger during an argument over fare at Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N. Yates Road, at 2:45 a.m. Aug. 13. Three students had hired him to take them from Milwaukee to the university for $25 but the driver said they owed $30. He left but was identified and when police contacted him, he and a relative came to the police department where he was cited Aug. 17.

A 21-year-old Cedarburg man was cited for driving without a valid license and failure to stop for a sign in the 300 block of East Dean Road at 12:06 p.m. Aug. 14. Also in the incident, an 18-year-old Glendale man was cited for criminal possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. During the traffic stop, police turned up 12 grams of marijuana and various drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale and rolling papers, in the passenger's backpack. The driver’s backpack contained a pipe and spoon with residue and other paraphernalia.

A 42-year-old man and two 47-year-old men, all of Milwaukee, were cited for attempted shoplifting and one of the older men also for driving with a suspended license and the other for a warrant after they attempted to take electronics and alcohol at Walgreens, 8615 N. Port Washington Road, at 3:31 p.m. Aug. 15. After the men were confronted as they left the store, they dropped the items and fled in a car that was stopped on I-43. They were also banned from the store.

A 56-year-old Brown Deer woman was cited for OWI-drugs after a witness reported a possible intoxicated driver in the 8600 block of North Port Washington Road at 3:37 p.m. Aug. 17. The woman, who said she had one drink and was on prescription medication, failed field sobriety tests, had a blood alcohol content of 0.007 and agreed to a blood draw.

A 23-year-old Fox point man was cited for possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct and warned for running a stop sign at North Yates and Green Tree roads at 12:53 p.m. Aug. 19. Another driver, who called police, said he honked his horn at that driver, who almost hit him as he ran the stop sign. He reported that the other driver yelled at a female passenger, using a derogatory name. The man was traced by his plate number. When police found him, he had 4 grams of marijuana in his pocket, according to police. He denied running the stop sign but admitted yelling.
