'Free Beer Until Packers Score' Promotion Backfires On Bar

Last week the Packers lost 23-0 to Baltimore. It meant that this bar had people drinking for free the whole game!

GLENDALE, WI — As the Green Bay Packers get ready to play the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday, one Milwaukee-area bar is not giving up on a promotion that backfired on them in a big way last week.

According to a WTMJ report, The Bavarian Bierhaus of Glendale hosts a weekly promotion called "Free Beer Until the Packers Score" each week.

Ordinarily, an Aaron Rodgers-led Packers offense makes short work of the promotion, but the high-flying Packers offense has been grounded with a spate of injuries to the team's offensive line, first and second-string running backs, a tight end defection and of course Rodgers' season-ending collarbone injury.

As a result, last week the Green Bay offense was befuddled and bludgeoned as they bungled their way to a 23-0 defeat at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens.

According to the WTMJ report, it meant that the roughly 200 people packed into the bar got to drink for free the whole game. Amazingly, General Manager Scott Bell said it only meant about 300 cups of free beer were dispensed during the game.

"Wisconsinites and Packers fans are at least somewhat responsible," Bell told WTMJ.

This Sunday may mean an even bigger crowd at the Bierhaus. The Packers go into Pittsburgh to play the Steelers' second-ranked NFL defense.
