Glendale Police Officer Struck By Stolen Car: Report
Police say one man has been charged in a stolen car case that led to a Glendale police officer being struck by a speeding stolen car.

FOX POINT, WI — Police say an 18-year-old Milwaukee man has been arrested and charged in connection with a stolen vehicle case that led to a police officer being struck by a stolen car.
According to online court records, Khalif Styles Scales has been arrested and charged with two counts of unauthorized use of personally identifying information or documents in connection with the incident that led to the officer's injuries.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, on June 19, just after 6:30 a.m., Fox Point police were dispatched to a report of a stolen car on the 6400 block of North Lake Drive in Fox Point.

Witness reports stated that a 2010 GMC Terrain was parked in a residential driveway overnight, unlocked with keys in it. The vehicle was stolen overnight and another resident who drives the vehicle said that a credit card inside the vehicle was used twice at the North Bay Citgo on North Teutonia Ave.
Authorities said that four days later, Glendale and Whitefish Bay police located the GMC Terrain reported as stolen and engaged in a police pursuit with the GMC Terrain and a second vehicle reported as stolen. Police made the decision to deploy stop sticks in order to disable the vehicles.

Reports indicated that Glendale police officer Aron Bechler was deploying the stop sticks in the area when the stolen vehicle collided with the officer, sending him several feet into the air.
Police said that the striking vehicle fled the scene, and no suspects were located following the collision, however, Scales was located at his parents' house later that evening and arrested.
According to online court records, Scales is being held in the Milwaukee County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond and faces up to six years behind bars.
