Glendale Stolen Jewelry Case Leads To Waukesha Shop

A case of stolen jewelry led authorities to a jewelry store in Waukesha, where a woman's ring valued at $8,500 was recovered.

WAUKESHA, WI — A case of stolen jewelry led authorities to a jewelry store in Waukesha, where a woman's ring valued at $8,500 was recovered after it was reportedly stolen from a Glendale woman's home.

According to police reports, Glendale police spoke with the victim in this case, a Glendale woman, who stated that many pieces of jewelry of hers was missing from her home. Some of the jewelry included necklaces, bracelets and a ring. Also, some of the items of jewelry were broken.

The woman told police that there were no signs of forced entry into her home. The woman gave police a possible suspect, Monica Bruckner, 42, who was identified as the defendant. The woman stated that while she was sick, she allowed only two people, one of whom was Bruckner, into her home.

Police took this investigation to various pawn shops in order to look at video of Bruckner. At two different pawn shops, an officer was able to secure still photos and/or surveillance video of Bruckner standing at the counter of the pawn shops, selling the very items of jewelry that the woman was missing, according to the criminal complaint.

Also, Bruckner could be seen pawning a ring, while using her own Wisconsin identification card, which the pawn shop copied and handed over to police, the criminal complaint stated.

According to reports, the woman provided documentation that on an earlier date, she got the ring appraised at Lola’s Fine Jewelry in Pompano Beach, FL. According to the documentation provided to police, the appraisal of the ring that Bruckner was seen selling to Dan’s L&L Fine Jewelry in Waukesha, Wis. was $8,500.00.
