Jose's Blue Sombrero Opens Monday

After months of anticipation, Jose's Blue Sombrero is opening Monday in the RiverPoint Shopping Center along I-43.

Jose's Blue Sombrero is a popular Mexican cantina chain with locations in Brookfield and Racine. The building at 8617 N. Port Washington Road was previously home to an Outback Steakhouse.

Restaurant officials say the menu at the Fox Point location will be different than what customers have become accustomed to in Brookfield and Racine. When Fox Point launches with the new menu on Monday, the Brookfield and Racine locations will follow suit.

Also unique to the Fox Point location is a large "salsa garden," which will grow herbs, vegetables and other ingredients that will be incorporated into the salsa and other dishes. Next to the salsa garden is a 14-table outdoor patio, which is buffered from the parking lot by a decorative stucco wall.

Restaurant hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The bar will stay open later. Jose's is closed on Sunday. The phone number is (414) 351-9280.
