Juveniles Caught With Marijuana, Vodka on I-43

The driver's blood alcohol was nearly twice the legal limit when he drove his friends back to Grafton from Milwaukee.

Four juveniles were caught with marijuana and vodka on their way from Milwaukee to Grafton early Wednesday morning.

Bayside police were monitoring traffic on Interstate 43 at 3 a.m. Wednesday when an officer saw the vehicle speed past at 73 mph in the 55 mph zone. When the male driver saw the squad, he quickly reduced his speed to 60 mph, but by that point it was too late.

The juveniles said they had just left a friend's house in Milwaukee and were on their way back home to Grafton. Despite their initial claims that they had not drank anything, both the driver and the three passengers were under the influence of alcohol.
