Man Catches Car Thief Trying To Steal Vehicle: Police
When a Whitefish Bay man caught a suspect trying to back his wife's car out of the driveway, the suspect ran off, initiating a police chase.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — According to police reports, Whitefish Bay police squads responded to a home on the 5500 block of N. Kent Ave. on Jan. 4 on a report of a motor vehicle theft in progress.
According to police, a 911 caller said his wife just started their vehicle just before 6 a.m. and left it running in the cold, as she re-entered the house. Moments later, they heard the car door close.
Concerned, they looked out the window to see an unknown suspect backing their car out of the driveway. According to police reports, the husband ran out of the house, caught up to the car and proceeded to pound on the window of the car as he tried to flee with the stolen car.

Police reports state that the suspect got out of the car and fled on foot toward Silver Spring Dr. with a green vehicle following him.
According to police, the green vehicle led Glendale police on a short pursuit before crashing at 42nd and Hopkins. Both suspects fled on foot and were unable to be tracked down, according to reports.
