Nicolet High School Student Earned National Merit Scholarship

Congratulations are in order! A student from Nicolet High School earned a National Merit Scholarship this year - a high honor.

GLENDALE, WI — The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced more than 3,200 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities Wednesday. One student from Nicolet High School was honored!

These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.

More than 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2017 National Merit Scholarship competition when they took the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Last fall, approximately 16,000 Semifinalists were named on a state-representational basis in numbers proportional to each state’s percentage of the national total of graduating high school seniors. Semifinalists were the highest-scoring program entrants in each stat, representing less than 1 percent of the nation’s seniors.

NATIONAL MERIT LEHIGH UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is coeducational, nondenominational, and private. The three undergraduate Colleges of Arts and Science, Business and Economics, and Engineering are intertwined with the Graduate School, the School of Education, and the Institute of Research, permitting unusual attention to contemporary problems as well as traditional professional and pre-professional training. The enrollment is stabilized at 4,000.
