Nicolet Rec. Dept. Offering Microsoft Excel - Introductory

This is a "hands on" course that is geared toward the newer Microsoft Excel user.

This is a “hands on” course that is geared toward the newer Microsoft Excel user. The core fundamentals of using Microsoft Excel are the primary focus.

Topics taught include:
• Overview of spreadsheets.
• Creating new workbooks from scratch, existing workbooks, or Microsoft provided templates.
• Workbook management which consists of inserting, removing, naming, and deleting worksheets within a workbook.
• Entering data into cells
• Row and column management which consists of inserting, deleting, and sizing both rows and columns.
• Undo/redo.
• Formatting of the cells which consists of fonts, formats specific to the types of data like numbers, currency, dates, etc.., alignment within the cells,
borders, and shading of cells.
• Cut/copy/paste of cells which will include data, formats, comments, etc.. Special paste techniques will also be covered to allow only certain parts of the cells information to be pasted.
• Creating, editing, and deleting comments within cells.
• Sorting cells/rows of information (including multilevel sorts).
• Page layout options to control the printing of the spreadsheet.
• Formulas (math calculations).
