North Shore Health Department Providing Coronavirus Vaccines To 1a Health Care Providers

The North Shore Health Department is providing a limited number of COVID-19 vaccines to individuals who qualify as 1a providers under Wisconsin’s COVID-19 vaccination plan.

Health care providers are individuals who provide direct patient service (compensated or uncompensated) or engage in health care services that place them into contact with patients who are able to transmit COVID-19 or infectious material containing the COVID-19 virus.

NSHD is directly contacting organizations who have reached out to the health department to verify their status as 1a providers. We are working with these organizations and contacting them when vaccine appointments are available for their qualified staff. We are also encouraging organizations who have employees who qualify as 1a health care providers to sign up at www.healthymke.com. The Milwaukee Area COVID-19 Vaccine Connector Tool will link these providers with participating vaccinator organizations throughout Milwaukee County.

NSHD is not currently vaccinating members of the general public. NSHD is also not currently vaccinating those who qualify in the Wisconsin’s 1B phase, including older adults. NSHD will alert the media and the public when we have appointments available for those in the 1B phase.

NSHD started a list of older adults in 1B, but this is not a list of people who will get the vaccine. This list is for people who want information regarding when and where they can get the vaccine. If you have residents who want to receiving this information, they can complete the following form: https://form.jotform.com/210125581252142 and will receive updates on where and when older adults can get the COVID-19 vaccine.
