Semi Crushes Car on I-43; Major Backups

A semi truck overturned on I-43, coming to rest on its side and crushing a vehicle. Backups extend for 3 miles.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Let the Labor Day weekend traffic backups begin!

Law enforcement is reporting that all northbound lanes of I-43 are closed at Hampton Ave because of a traffic incident as of 3 p.m. Friday, Sep. 1.

That's because a semi truck overturned on I-43, coming to rest on its side and crushing a vehicle.

There is no report of the extent of injuries at this point. Patch.com will update this story as more information comes available.

Media reports indicate that backups on I-43 extend for three miles, and that I-43 will be closed for the foreseeable future.
