Sen. Ron Johnson Schools Bayside Eighth-Graders In Civics

As part of a social studies course on the workings of government, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson visited Bayside Middle School students on Thursday.

U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson gave Bayside Middle School eighth-grade students a civics lesson Thursday.

The visit, held in the middle school cafeteria, was part of a social studies lesson on how local, state and federal governments works. Before taking a trip to Washington D.C. where they met with U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan in March, the students got a visit from U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore.

Johnson spoke for roughly an hour about why he got into politics, how he sees his role as a congressman, among other topics, and took questions from students.
