Young Bicyclist Caught With Booze in Backpack

The 15-year-old boy attempted to evade police on his bicycle when they spotted him out past curfew.

A 15-year-old bicyclist had two beers and a bottle of champagne in his backpack when he was caught by Fox Point police last week.

The boy was riding his bicycle east on Dean Road on April 20 at 1:11 a.m. – well past curfew. When he saw the Fox Point squad car, he made a quick u-turn on Dean Road, made a left turn into Indian Creek Park and rode through the grass and playground area before the officer told him to stop.

The boy dropped his backpack down behind a bush, but that didn't stop the officer from asking about it. Inside the backpack was an unopened bottle of Korbel champagne and two unopened cans of Budweiser beer. The boy did not have any alcohol in his system, based on a breath test.
