10-Year-Old Hudson Girl, Father Identified In Duluth Drowning

A 10-year-old girl from Hudson and a 38-year-old man from Osceola both died late Thursday in a drowning incident in Duluth.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, WI — A 10-year-old girl from Hudson and a 38-year-old man from Osceola both died late Thursday in a drowning incident in Duluth.

Authorities released the identities of both victims Friday: 10-year-old Lily Elizabeth Fuglie of Hudson, and 38-year-old Ryan Paul Fuglie of Osceola.

According to authorities, on August 10, just after 4 p.m., St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to a water emergency at the Park Point Recreation Center.

The caller reported an adult male and his juvenile daughter were swimming in that location and were in distress. Shortly thereafter the swimmers could not be located in the high waves.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., the 10-year-old girl, Lily Fuglie, was pulled from the water and transported by Goldcross Ambulance to Essentia St. Mary's in Duluth.

The adult male, age 38, identified as Ryan Fuglie, was later located by first responders. Unfortunately, the they both were deceased. The matter remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
