2 Dead in Highway 27 Crash
The vehicle deviated into the southbound lane and continued on a path into the west ditch, where it struck a culvert and concrete wall.

CHIPPEWA COUNTY, WI — A man and woman are dead after a fatal rollover crash in which the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic.
On Aug. 2, just before 12:30 p.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash on State Highway 27 north of Cadott.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered the vehicle contained 2 occupants. The female driver was unconscious and later pronounced dead at the scene. The male passenger was conscious and taken by helicopter to Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire, but later succumbed to his injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 27, and for
unknown reasons, deviated into the southbound lane and continued on a path into the west ditch,
where it struck a culvert and concrete wall.
The crash remains under investigation and the names of the deceased are being withheld pending
family notification.
