28-Year-Old Man Dies in Highway 63/64 Auto Accident; Man Identified

A 28-year-old man died of his injuries after a Dodge Ram collided with his vehicle on Highway 63/64 Saturday.

ST. CROIX COUNTY, WI — A 28-year-old man died of his injuries after a Dodge Ram collided with his vehicle on Highway 63/64 Saturday.

On Sat. May 20, just after 6:30 a.m., the St. Croix Sheriff's office responded to a two-vehicle accident on the 2400 block of Highway 63/67 in the Town of Cylon.

Initial reports indicated that a 2010 Chevrolet Impala was traveling eastbound on Highway 63/64, driven by Nicholas J. Fellman, 28, of Amery. Reports indicate that as Fellman was making a lefthand turn into a residential driveway, a 2004 Dodge Ram truck that was traveling westbound on the same highway collided with the passenger side of Fellman's vehicle. The Dodge Ram was operated by Chad J. Bowers, 41, of Ridgeland, Wis.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff's office, Fellman suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash, and was flown by Life Link III from the scene to Regions Hospital. Bowers was not injured.

The Sheriff's office was notified by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office that Fellman had died due to his injuries on Wednesday.

According to authorities, Fellman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Bowers was recorded as wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Fellman's death is St. Croix County's fourth traffic fatality of 2017.
