3 Hudson H.S. School Students Earned National Merit Scholarships
Congratulations are in order! 3 students from Hudson High School earned National Merit Scholarships this year - a high honor.

HUDSON, WI — The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced more than 3,200 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities Wednesday. Three students from Hudson High School have been honored!
These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.
More than 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2017 National Merit Scholarship competition when they took the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Last fall, approximately 16,000 Semifinalists were named on a state-representational basis in numbers proportional to each state’s percentage of the national total of graduating high school seniors. Semifinalists were the highest-scoring program entrants in each stat, representing less than 1 percent of the nation’s seniors.

The University of Minnesota, the state land grant university, is the primary education and research center in Minnesota in the Health Sciences, Law, Engineering, Agriculture, and Forestry; it offers graduate level programs in all of these fields. The Twin Cities Campus, its largest, comprises 28 colleges. A comprehensive campus in Duluth, a four-year liberal arts campus at Morris, and two-year Technical Agricultural campuses in Crookston and Waseca are also parts of the university system.

The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, is a comprehensive regional university that offers a values-centered, career-oriented education to more than 10,000 students of all ages. The 5,100 undergraduates choose from 79 majors, and many are involved in volunteer and service-learning programs as part of the university's mission to actively serve the community. On the graduate level, 5,300 students choose from 45 master's, doctoral, and education specialist programs.
