Aubree Long: 'No Sign of Trauma' Medical Examiner Says
Authorities have ruled that the death of 14-week-old Aubree Long on Halloween 2017 was not caused by internal or external trauma.

ST. CROIX COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Baldwin, Wis. have ruled that the Halloween death of a 14-week-old girl is not attributable to any form of trauma.
On Halloween night 2017, police reported that Aubree Long was found dead next to her father, 39-year-old Jeff Long. Authorities said that Jeff Long died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in an apparent suicide.
On Thursday, Dec. 28, Baldwin police said the final autopsy results on Aubree Long from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner, reported that there was no "anatomic" cause of death, and no signs of external or internal trauma. Toxicology results also indicated an absence of harmful chemicals in Aubree Long's blood stream, the Medical Examiner reported.

In a KTSP report, Aubree's mother Annie Long said she believed her husband woke up to find their daughter dead,and then took his own life. "My husband never would hurt our child," she said. "He loved her, with every piece of his body."

The Baldwin Police Department and emergency responders went to a home in the 200-block of Cedar Street in Baldwin on a report of man who had been shot. Officers found Jeffrey Long inside with a gunshot wound to his head. A gun was found nearby, police said.
Officers also found Long's daughter, Aubree Long, who was unresponsive. Emergency crews were unable to revive her and she died at the scene, according to reports.
