Why the Brewfest?
According to event organizers, The Backcountry Brewfest will be used to help bring awareness to the presence of their organization, the Backcountry Hunters and Anglers in the midwest and raise funds to support local conservation efforts.
Locally their efforts have focused on protecting the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness watershed from proposed Sulfide-Ore Copper Mines. They have also worked to oppose the sale of 10,000 acres of public land in Wisconsin among other issues affecting the public’s access and ability to use public lands.
The organization also stated they assist with hunter and angler recruitment and training through the state DNR offices and assist in maintaining and cleaning public lands.
