Buggy Driver Dies After Collision With Semi: Police

Just after 5 p.m., Wednesday, the Wisconsin State Patrol received a report of a crash on Highway 10 involving a semi truck and a buggy.

ST. CROIX COUNTY, WI —Authorities say the driver of a horse-drawn buggy has died after it collided with a semi-truck on Jan. 3.

Just after 5 p.m. Wednesday, the Wisconsin State Patrol received a report of a crash on Highway 10 involving a semi truck and a buggy.

Authorities say the crash happened in the west lane of Highway 10 near County Highway G in the Town of Garfield, which is in Jackson County. At this stretch of road, Highway 10 is a 2-lane highway.

According to reports, the driver of the buggy, 26-year-old Moses Petersheim of Osseo, died in the crash. Petersheim was the lone occupant of the buggy.

The Wisconsin State Patrol said that the driver of the semi truck, 36-year-old Derek Hedburg of St. Cloud, was uninjured in the crash. Authorities say the semi was owned by Scherer and Sons Trucking of St. Joseph, Minnesota.

The Wisconsin State Patrol reported that they're continuing to investigate the crash.
