Christmas with The River City Chorale

concerts sharing their gift of beautiful choral music with the Hudson community
and the St. Croix Valley, ushering in the final week before Christmas.

The community is invited to attend one of the concerts and celebrate the
Christmas season with the Chorale members.
General admission tickets are $10.00 and can be ordered online at the Chorale’s
website therivercitychorale.com. Both concerts sold out last year prior to the day
of the concert, so tickets will likely not be available at the door.
The 80-member River City Chorale Christmas Choir will perform a variety of
traditional and contemporary Christmas selections, including: 21 st century
composer Dan Forrest’s arrangements of the English carols “See Amid the
Winter’s Snow” and “Angels from the Realms of Glory”; a contemporary version
of “O Come, O Come Emanuel”; the Catalonian carol “Cold December Flies
Away; early 20 th century carols “Ding! Dong! Merrily on High” and “In the Bleak
Midwinter”; Benjamin Britten’s arrangement of the 16 th century poem “This Little
Babe”; and “Christmas Pops Trio” showcasing modern holiday classics.
The Youth Choir will perform Dan Kantor’s “Night of Silence”, “What I Can Give”
by Mary Beale and arrangements of traditional favorites “Pata Pan” and “Do You
Hear What I Hear”
The Ensemble Singers will perform the a cappella “Glory to God in the Highest”,
“Rejoice and Sing”, John Rutter’s modern update of the classic carol “I Saw
Three Ships”, “Lullaby” by 21 st century composer, Daniel Elder, and “Christ the
Appletree” by Stanford Scriven.
The Christmas Choir and the Ensemble Singers will come together and perform
“Carol Fantasia”, a medley of the most beloved traditional Christmas carols.
All three groups are under the direction of The Chorale’s Artistic Director, Andrew
Haase. Jodell Krause will be the accompanist for the Chorale and the Ensemble
Singers and Susan Whitten will accompany the Youth Choir. Additional
