The city of Hudson on Friday launched a complete redesign of the city’s website.
The name and the link to the site remain the same, but the redesign is easier to use and is a lot more functional, City Administrator Devin Willi said.
The site allows users to set notifications to keep up with news and announcements from specific departments and meetings, Willi said. The new design also offers dropdown menu boxes, making it easier for residents to find the information they’re interested in locating.

Additional functions will be added in the near future, such as links to the city’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. More department-specific news, announcements and events will also be populated in the coming weeks.
“It’s a huge reformat,” Willi said. “This site is much more user friendly.”

The redesign cost $12,000, Willi said. There is also an annual maintenance fee. The redesign work was contracted to Civic Plus, a company that has designed thousands of sites for governmental agencies around the country.
