Fatal Motorcycle Accident Victim Identified
Authorities have identified the 64-year-old man from Cornucopia, Wis. who died after the motorcycle he was driving was struck by a car.

BAYFIELD COUNTY, WI — Authorities have identified the 64-year-old man from Cornucopia, Wis. who died after the motorcycle he was driving was struck by the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta late Saturday night.
Authorities say David J. Apka, 64, died in the crash. Andrew J. Peterson of Bayfield, Wis. is accused in the crash that involved Apka.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, at approximately 7:05 p.m. a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling northbound on State Highway 13. The Jetta
attempted to make a left hand turn onto Superior Avenue in Cornucopia when the Jetta struck a motorcycle that was traveling southbound on Highway 13.

Authorities say Apka sustained his fatal injuries from this crash. The driver of the Jetta, Peterson, was treated and released by EMS at the scene.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Department.
