Norheim said he expects to hire between 10-12 part-time employees, and an assistant manager.

Norheim currently lives in Bismark, N.D. and decided to open up shop in Hudson to be close to his daughter and first grandchild.

“I first learned of CherryBerry from my son who saw one in Bismark and loved it,” Norheim said. “Then my daughter told me how much she loved the one in Woodbury.”

Norheim said he began the process of opening CherryBerry in July, and acknowledged that since then two other frozen treats shops have opened.

“I think we’ll do just fine, it’s a great concept and kids will love it,” he said. “I’m excited about it.”
