Hump Day in Hudson: Helping Others, Beer and Performing Arts

The North Hudson Elementary PTO is helping to collect donations for fire victims through Thursday, Oakwood Dental's school supply donation drive is going strong, and it is a good day to be a craft beer geek.

Happy hump day, Hudson.

It’s Wednesday, and this post is all about helping others, beer and looking forward to the weekend.

A few things you should know today:

From the North Hudson Elementary PTO:

“Our hearts & thoughts go out to the Lucas family who lost their home to the house fire last week.

Erica is going to be a 5th grader at NHE this fall. Their house is most likely a total loss. Immediate needs include cash donations, gift cards to grocery stores and/ or WalMart and Target, Kohls, JC Penny's, etc.

Mr. Schmidt will be collecting donations at school from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Thursday, July 25. After that, donations can be dropped off at Fairfield Inn under the Lucas name.

Understandably, many of you may not be in a position to make a donation today. But if you are able, the needs are great and all help is appreciated.”

Also on Facebook, Oakwood Dental shared this status update:

“Our school supply donation drive is going great! Thank you to everyone who has donated. We are still excepting donations through the end of the month for students in need.”

Looking Ahead

The Hudson Public Library has several book club and story time events happening this week.

In addition to the Phipps' Event Calendar, ArtReach St. Croix's events calendar, St. Croix Splash, is another great way to stay current with what's going on with the arts.

This week, according to St. Croix Splash:
