30-Year-Old Man Identified in Highway 10 Fatal Crash

A 30-year-old man is dead and a 68-year-old woman was seriously injured in a Wednesday accident on Highway 10.

PIERCE COUNTY, WI — A 30-year-old man is dead and a 68-year-old woman was seriously injured in a Wednesday accident on Highway 10.

Jason Hart, a 30-year-old man from Ellsworth, Wis. has died after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 10 on Wednesday. The driver of a second vehicle in the crash, 68-year-old Gail Leonard, suffered life-threatening injuries. Both were wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.

On Wednesday, June 21 at about 4:35 pm, Troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol Northwest Region Eau Claire Post responded to a two-vehicle head on crash on USH 10 near CTH J west of Ellsworth.

A vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 10 when it was involved in a head on crash with a second vehicle, which was traveling eastbound near the intersection of County Road J. The crash occurred in the westbound lane.

The driver of the first vehicle, Leonard, was extricated from her vehicle by Ellsworth Fire. Hart was air lifted by North Memorial Air Care while Leonard was air lifted by Life Link III.

The crash remains under investigation. Both subjects had their seatbelts on at the time of the crash.
