Man Who Died on Highway 10 Leaves Behind Expectant Wife
30-year-old Jason Hart died just weeks before the birth of his daughter. Now, a fundraising effort is underway to help mom. How to help:

PIERCE COUNTY, WI — The 30-year-old Ellsworth man who died in Wednesday's accident on Highway 10 leaves behind a daughter that is only weeks from birth.
Jason Hart, a 30-year-old man from Ellsworth, Wis. has died after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 10 on Wednesday. The driver of a second vehicle in the crash, 68-year-old Gail Leonard, suffered life-threatening injuries. Both were wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Hart's wife Emily is only a few weeks from giving birth to their daughter. Family are ensuring that Emily and Baby are going to be taken care of. A fundraising effort online at You Caring is being held to help Emily and the new baby in their urgent time of need. According to the fundraiser website, "consider helping out to make sure she can take the time to grieve and to make sure that her and Baby are taken care of to do so."

On Wednesday, June 21 at about 4:35 pm, Troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol Northwest Region Eau Claire Post responded to a two-vehicle head on crash on USH 10 near CTH J west of Ellsworth.
A vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 10 when it was involved in a head on crash with a second vehicle, which was traveling eastbound near the intersection of County Road J. The crash occurred in the westbound lane.
The driver of the first vehicle, Leonard, was extricated from her vehicle by Ellsworth Fire. Hart was air lifted by North Memorial Air Care while Leonard was air lifted by Life Link III.
The crash remains under investigation. Both subjects had their seatbelts on at the time of the crash.
