OBIT: Kim Lagerstrom, age 58, of Hudson, WI

Kim Lagerstrom, 58, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on February 15th, after a courageous 10-year battle with breast cancer.

Kim Lagerstrom, 58, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on February 15th, after a courageous 10-year battle with breast cancer, a battle that never wavered her faith, her grace, or her determination to find joy in every moment. Kim was a devoted wife, champion mom and grandma, tireless volunteer, and a beautiful blessing to anyone who called her friend. She spent the holidays in Wisconsin surrounded by family and friends and spent the last month in Arizona with family and friends.

Kim was born and raised in Madison, WI, where she developed her passion for life, learned the value of hard work, and the joy of helping others. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire before moving to the Twin Cities area to work in administrative and marketing positions for Knox Lumber and 3M Company. Kim’s true life work was helping others and advocating for those in need as evidenced by her work at Bethel Lutheran Church and in the Strive Program at Hudson High School. Kim and Chuck were married for 36 years and were blessed with 2 beautiful children and 2 grandchildren. Most recently, Kim was working hard at “being retired” by enjoying her time with Chuck at their home in Arizona where she pursued her love of quilting, golfing, gardening, playing pickleball, traveling, and sharing good times with her entourage of girlfriends. However, Kim cherished nothing more than being with her children and grandchildren. She had such a gift of bringing out smiles and laughter in others. Her beautiful smile, positive attitude, and loving approach to life will be deeply missed and will live in our hearts forever.

Kim is survived by her husband Chuck, her children Jill and Andrew (Alison); grandchildren Avery and Graham; sister Linda (Brad) Staley and brother Tom (Merlane) Keller; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Tom Keller, niece Nicole Keller and nephew George Lagerstrom.
