One Dead in Motorcycle Crash

A 68-year-old man from Spooner is dead following a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on Highway A.

WASHBURN COUNTY, WI — A 68-year-old man from Spooner is dead following a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on Highway A.

Saturday, July 15 at approximately 3:03 p.m., a Wisconsin State Trooper responded to a single vehicle motorcycle crash at N2980 County Highway A, in Evergreen, west of the City of Spooner.

Upon arrival, two City of Spooner Police officers were on-scene and CPR was being administered to the driver, who was pulseless and not breathing. CPR was continued by all responders along with the use of a defibrillator.

The driver, 68 year old Jerome Burnham of Spooner, WI, did regain a pulse and breathing prior to being air lifted from the scene. Mr. Burnham later succumbed to his injuries.

Prior to the crash, Burnham was westbound on County Highway A and had just negotiated a curve in the road.

The cause for the motorcycle leaving the roadway has not been determined. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
