HUDSON - The hot weather is here for the weekend, but according to the National Weather Service, a risk for severe weather is also worth noting - and being prepared for.

"Thunderstorms are possible tonight... Especially after midnight...
But severe weather is not expected at this time."

Saturday through Sunday

"Some lingering thunderstorms are possible Saturday morning... But
Widespread severe weather is not expected with that activity.
However... Thunderstorms will develop along a cold front moving
Across the area saturday afternoon. Severe weather... Including
Large hail... Damaging wind gusts... And a few tornadoes... Is
Expected with the stronger storms that occur saturday afternoon
And evening. Eastern minnesota and western Wisconsin currently
Appear to have the greatest potential for severe weather... But
The entire area has some risk depending on the timing of the cold
Front."

Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. South southeast wind around 10 mph.

Tonight
A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. South southeast wind around 10 mph.

Saturday
Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Breezy, with a southeast wind 15 to 20 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Saturday Night
A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 64. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday
Sunny, with a high near 83. Breezy, with a west wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Mostly clear, with a low around 61. West wind 10 to 15 mph.
