Woman Who Died In Drunk Driving Accident Identified
An August 21 crash in Washburn County has claimed the life of a 54-year-old woman from Springbrook, in addition to injuring two others.

WASHBURN COUNTY, WI — An August 21 crash in Washburn County has claimed the life of a 54-year-old woman from Springbrook, in addition to injuring two others.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, on Aug. 21 just after 4 p.m., authorities responded to a one-vehicle crash with injuries on County Highway A near Fred Tripp Road in Washburn County.
Upon arrival an investigation was conducted and it was determined the driver, 48 year-old Lorraine Lampert from Springbrook was under the influence of alcohol.

The female passenger, 54 year-old Judith Ray from Springbrook, WI, sustained injuries and was transported to Stone Lake by ambulance and was then flown out by helicopter to a hospital in Duluth.
Lampert also sustained injuries in the crash and was originally transported by ambulance to the Hayward Hospital, but then flown to a Duluth Hospital also.

Prior to Lampert being flown out to Duluth, a legal blood draw was conducted and Lampert was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing injury.
The passenger, Judith Ray, later succumbed to her injuries sustained in this crash. Charges for the incident will now be changed and the crash and arrest remain under investigation
by the State Patrol.
