Dr. Stephanie Kinsey to attend continuing education in craniocervical and craniomandibular pathophysiology

Stephanie Kinsey, DDS, owner and founder of Palencia Dental will attend the upcoming continuing education course

Stephanie Kinsey, DDS, owner and founder of Palencia Dental in St. Augustine, Fla. will attend the upcoming continuing education course on Craniocervical & Craniomandibular Pathophysiology Approach to Treatment with Dr. Mariano Rocabado, one of the world's pre-eminent authorities in the treatment of TMD and TMJ disorders from a craniocervical perspective. During this time, Dr. Kinsey will study her post residency with Dr. Rocabado who has pioneered numerous treatment techniques for dentists and physical therapists, and has published much of his work in this field. The unique presentation is for dentists, chiropractors and physical therapists, and is offered exclusively in the United States at the Center for Occlusal Studies from November 2 until November 4 in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Dr. Kinsey will participate in "hands-on" treatment exercises along with lateral cephalometric analysis, the relationship between craniocervical joints and cephalgias, plus the functional anatomy and biomechanics of the synovial TM Joints. She will also study mandibular dynamics, osteokinetic and arthrokinematic assessment, mandibular rest position, long axis, and lateral and medial distractions. Instruction will include Dr. Rocabado’s Roll Back Technique with craniocervical and mandibular normalization, and a basic approach to patient care as it applies to the advanced studies.

Dr. Mariano Rocabado, DPT is Dean Faculty of Rehabilitation Science at the University of Andres Bello in Santiago, Chile, and Full Professor at the University of Chile in Santiago. He is also Adjunct Professor at the University of St. Augustine in St. Augustine, Fla.

Dr. Kinsey recently attended the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics (ICCMO) conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina during the professional organization’s Neuromuscular Dental Forum. Dr. Kinsey regularly joins dentistry professionals from around the world during scientific coursework in neuromuscular dental medicine, and the latest technologies in clinical and professional interests. “The continuing education atmosphere with professionals in private practice and from academic institutions is of great benefit to my local patients and the practice. Studies and discussions at all levels of neuromuscular dentistry, scientific advancement and education will help to change many lives through the importance of advanced dental and oral health,” said Dr. Kinsey.
