Madison School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Madison is September 5 for grades 4K-5, 6 and 9. The first day is September 6 for grades 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Madison Metropolitan School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.
