Recently, Angelo’s was voted the 2011 eighth trendiest bar in the Milwaukee area, according to WISN’s “A-list”.
“We were the only bar from outside the city of Milwaukee voted into the top ten, which is a big accomplishment,” Petropoulos said.
The first few years are also difficult for many small businesses, but Petropoulos said momentum is building at Café Vino.
“Our catering business and party business has boomed,” Petropoulos said. “Birthdays, baptisms and bridal showers are filling our Saturdays and Sundays. It’s been huge for us. We’ve always provided this service but demand is really growing.”
More importantly, Petropoulos said residents throughout Menomonee Falls and the Milwaukee area are recognizing the good things happening on the corner of Main Street and Mill Street.
“I think people know our identity now after our second year. We’ve been consistent and word is spreading,” Petropoulos said. “We’re known as the gathering place here. People want to come to a place that’s quaint, classy, and with a downtown atmosphere.”
Looking forward to year three, Angelo wants to test new menu items incorporating ethnic cuisine from around the world.
“On any given night, you can try a dinner special from somewhere different. Our menu really has a great balance,” Petropoulos said.
